Our senior camogie team took to the field last Friday 19th January in Clanna Gael in the Dublin Senior Final. Although the students worked extremely hard at the beginning of the match they found themselves two goals down after ten minutes. They showed great resilience and following some positional switches and some excellent play the students changed the tide of the game. Great vision and passing led to impressive scores and the team went into halftime with their noses in front. The students’ determination was evident when they went out in the second half and they asserted their dominance. An array of fine scores left the students 11 points up with ten minutes to go. Despite conceding a goal and a point in the last five minutes the students ran out winners on a score line of 5-2 to 3-1. Emer Carney and Naoise Finnegan were presented with the cup following the match.
Their focus has now shifted to the All Ireland Quarter Final tomorrow Saturday 27th January at 1pm. The players will be meeting a team from Offaly and the match will take place in Erin’s Isle pitch. Thanks to Erin’s Isle for accommodating this match and for also providing refreshments for both teams. We wish all the members of the panel and their trainers Ms Walsh and Ms O’Mahoney well as they embark on the next stage of their All Ireland journey!
