NFTE Business Teacher Of The YearOn April 25th 2014, Mr Donnelly of St. Mary’s represented Ireland on the global stage as winner of the Irish NFTE Business teacher of the year award. The award is in it’s forth year and it is a privilege to have a business teacher from St Mary’s representing NFTE IrelandThe ceremony took place in the National Museum in Washington DC. The event was a celebration of the 20th Anniversary of NFTE worldwide.The Global Enterprising Educator Awards, presented by MasterCard, honoured the top 24 teachers from NFTE’s programs around the world.It was a wonderful honour to represent the school on a global stage and one which I will remember for a very long time. A special thanks to the students, my fellow business teachers and Management in St. Mary’s for allowing myself deliver the programme for the past number of years and to Ms. Keelin O’Donnell of NFTE Ireland for all her help and assistance.Throughout my time in Washington DC I managed meet and to share resources and experience with other teachers from around the globe, hopefully I can bring some of these techniques back to the classroom in St. Mary’s.
