DCU Achievement Awards 2018
On the evening of 11th December 2018, over 300 third year students from seventeen North Dublin schools received awards in the 20th annual Access Achievement Awards Ceremony held at The Helix in DCU. The event was hosted by the DCU Access Service, and featured a keynote address from DCU President Professor Brian MacCraith. Awards were presented in the categories of Academic Achievement, Sport, Arts & Culture, Community Spirit, and Exceptional Nomination. Congratulations to our twenty 3rd year students who were honoured on Tuesday night with awards in all five categories.
Entertainment was provided by students from the participating schools and four of our 6th year students – Lauren Russell, Claire Mulcahy, Rebecca Kelly and Kelise Penrose were privileged to be chosen to perform at this prestigious event.
With musical direction by Dr Yvonne Crotty and musical accompaniment by our own Mr Coll this was a wonderful celebration of the achievements of all of our schools. Lauren sang
Half The World Away and Claire, Rebecca and Kelise sang
The Power of Love. They were excellent and sang with such confidence and passion. They also joined the other students who performed at the end to sing a Christmas Medley.
We are so proud of our 3rd years who received awards and of our 6th years who provided such high standard entertainment on the night.
