Well done to our TY Gaeilge students who successfully organised a cake sale to fundraise for Irish events and activities. We raised €300.00 on the day and spoke as Gaeilge from beginning to end.
Thanks to the first years and TY students for all their baking and the teachers who helped out on the day.
Roinn na Gaeilge 2014/’15
Bhí téarma thar a bheith deacair ag Roinn na Gaeilge i mbliana nuair a chailleadh múinteoir linn, Mrs. Claire Bogan. Ba mhúinteoir thar a bheith díograiseach, eagraithe, foighneach agus éirimiúil í Mrs. Claire Bogan. Bhí grá mór aici don Ghaeilge, don mhúinteoireacht agus do na daltaí ar fad a mhúin sí thar na blianta. Ba foinse eolais, comhairle agus tacaíochta í dá có-mhúinteoirí uile i Roinn na Gaeilge. Mothóimid uainn i gcónaí í. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.
Roinn na Gaeilge had a very difficult term this year with the loss of our colleague, Mrs. Claire Bogan. Mrs. Claire Bogan was a very dedicated, organized, patient and talented teacher. She had a great love for Irish, for teaching and for all the students she taught over the years. She was a source of information, advice and support to her fellow teachers in Roinn na Gaeilge. She will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace.
Roinn na Gaeilge 2014
Bhaineamar go léir an-tairbhe agus antaitneamh as an obair – This school term has been an interesting and rewarding time for Roinn na Gaeilge in St. Mary’s. Bhí Taispeántas ar siúl sa scoil –Well done to all the students who prepared so well for “Open Night” which was held on Tuesday 25 September 2012. The Irish Area in Seomra 1 Fraoch (Heather) was beautifully decorated with students’ work from the many different Irish classes. The work, and indeed the endeavour, in putting together the worthwhile presentations by all the Irish classes were admired by everybody present on the night. None of this would have been possible, however, without the hard work, effort and dedication of all the Irish Teachers. Thanks to everybody for all their help and co-operation. Ní neart go cur le chéile!
