School Mass for the Opening of the School Year
Our school Mass was celebrated by Fr Richard in Our Lady of Victories Church on Wednesday 3rd October 2018. The theme of this year’s mass was Pope Francis’ message of the Joy of Love. Mr Coll introduced the mass by reminding us that we can live good lives if we try daily to use the three simple phrases ‘Please’, ‘Thank You’ and ‘Sorry’ that the Pope has asked us to use. The mass was a beautiful celebration of our school community, and especially our new entrants who were welcomed officially into the fold today. Congratulations to our prefects who were commissioned today and to our eleven new Ministers of the Eucharist who officiated for the first time at our mass. Special thanks to the RE team for organising this special event and to our music department and choir for providing such sublime music throughout. Special thanks to our Community Guards Dave and Elaine who organised traffic control on the journey to and from the church to ensure the safety of our students and staff. And a final and heartfelt thanks to Father Richard for celebrating our special mass with and for us and for always being there to imbue our religious ceremonies with such deep reverence and understanding.
