Hockey’s Back!
Hockey season is officially back! Well done to all the girls who represented St Mary’s this afternoon in a friendly again Holy Faith Clontarf.
The game was definitely one of two halves! Holy faith attacked quickly and put goal keeper Tara McCabe under pressure from the start. She made a wonderful save but unfortunately a deflection put Holy Faith Clontarf on the score board.
St Marys answered back quickly with a goal from Rose Roy. However for the rest of the half Clontarf were a force to be reckoned with and this was clear from the half time score 5-1.
St Marys never gave up and the 2nd half was a different game. St Mary’s played well and began to gain more confidence on the ball. Two lovely goals from Mai Perkins and Rose Roy brought confidence to the team. A much improved team performance in the second half and a final score of 5-3 to Holy Faith Clontarf. Well done girls – looking forward to a wonderful season!
