On this day 100 years ago (1918) February the 6th – Women over the age of 30 got the right to vote in Ireland and Britain for the first time. However, in order to vote, women had to own their own property, be married to a man who did or be a university graduate. The first female politician was our very own Countess Markievicz. The Student Council marked today and will celebrate the Road to Votes for the month of February.
