On 26th October we were delighted in St Mary’s to be able to facilitate the filming of Claire Shorten’s video which was made by the Maynooth Access Service. Claire is completing a placement here as part of her Professional Masters in Education programme which she is pursuing in Maynooth University. The video captures beautifully how university is a realistic goal for people from all backgrounds, despite the challenges. It also speaks to the importance of diversity – something that the Maynooth Access Programme is very passionate about. The video has been shared through the University’s social media platforms and has had a remarkable level of engagement – almost 6,000 views on Facebook alone. The Access Service in Maynooth shared the video with us and they are hoping that it will be used as a resource by schools, community organisations, disability advocacy groups, etc. Please click on the link below to access Claire’s video:
