This years NFTE trade fair took place on December 18th in St. Mary’s choir Hall. A special thanks to the board of management, Mrs. Lennon and Ms. Murphy for allowing the girls to trade and express themselves as young business women.
There was a wonderful array of talented entrepreneurs on show. The girls of St. Mary’s are driven Sales Women with a hunger to trade and learn the ropes of Entrepreneurship.
Many companies spread across a wide range of businesses were on display, such as ipod and I phone cases, android and I phone accessories, homemade cards, female vanity products, nail and beauty treatments, hair braiding, sweet shops, hand designed and decorated a4 hardbacks, TY Hoodys, hot chocolate and winter treats.
Each company has a unique selling point and the girls have all contributed in a practical manner in forming their business. The trade fair was also attended by last years alumni, Nicole Weldon and Aíne Ford, whom are still carrying on with their poster and calendar business ‘FAWN’ as part of the Alumni competition. Along with a special thanks to Aoife Maguire (NFTE ‘2011 International Winner) for all of her help on the day.
It was a very enjoyable Christmas Fair which was wonderfully supported by the students in St. Mary’s. A special thanks to you as without you this would not be possible. Here is looking forward to a wonderful years trading in 2014 and to a successful NFTE campaign.
Many Thanks. Mr. W Donnelly (Business NFTE Teacher)
In Transition year some students do a business module called NFTE. This is a year-long course where you set up your own mini company. We have a double class a week. You choose your business name, your product and how you will buy/sell your product. Mr. Donnelly helps you with this process. I personally have set up a mini company with my friend Áine. We are selling posters and personalised calendars. NFTE is a great module: Nicole
